About SYDIC

Senghenydd Youth Drop-in Centre (SYDIC) is a voluntary sector organization established in 1997. Working with young people

At SYDIC, we believe in working in partnership with young people and the local community to develop participation in, and commitment to, community projects, community development, cohesion, and sustainability. Our programs include drop-in facilities, educational and career guidance, out-of-school activities, leisure activities, arts and crafts, and much more.

Quality mark

We are proud to be the main youth support service for the Aber Valley region of Caerphilly County Borough. Our provision is highly thought of locally and across the borough, and we have been recognized as a best-practice organization working with young people. SYDIC was the first youth organization in the borough to receive the Children and Young People’s Partnership Quality Mark.

Positive solutions

Our diverse programs and activities aim to address individual and group problem areas and provide positive, workable solutions. We also offer support for drugs and alcohol advice, counselling, and C-Card (condom provision) services2.

Join us in making a difference in the lives of young people and the community!

The SYDIC Young People’s Oral History and Heritage Project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to create a project that encourages learning and understanding about different cultures within our community, to offer new experiences and the opportunity for the young people to get to know the heritage and history of where they live while participating in exciting and interesting activities.”
